Exposing False Doctrines in Genesis
1️⃣ False Doctrines About Creation
A. The Gap Theory
What it teaches: A gap of millions of years between Genesis 1:1 and 1:2.
People who adhere to the Gap Theory usually do so in an attempt to reconcile the Bible with modern science, especially the idea that the earth is millions or billions of years old. They believe that by placing a long, undefined period between Genesis 1:1 (“In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth”) and Genesis 1:2 (“And the earth was without form, and void…”), they can fit geological ages, fossils, and evolutionary timelines into Scripture without rejecting the Bible outright. In essence, it’s a compromise trying to blend God’s Word with man’s theories but it ultimately undermines the plain reading of Scripture and the doctrine that death entered only after sin (Romans 5:12)
📖 Romans 5:12 (KJV) Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:
If there was fossils and evolution before Adam? Then there was death before Adam which is against scripture.
Also this ideology adds time to fit evolution into the Bible which contradicts the plain reading of Scripture six literal days of creation.
📖 Exodus 20:11 (KJV) For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.
Key Point: God didn’t need time He spoke it into being.
B. Theistic Evolution
What it teaches: God used evolution to create life.
People who hold to Theistic Evolution usually do so because they want to appear scientifically credible while still believing in God. They accept evolutionary theory that life gradually developed over millions of years but try to blend it with faith by saying God guided the process. This view often comes from pressure to align with modern science and avoid being labeled “anti-intellectual.” In trying to harmonize Scripture with evolution, they believe they’re protecting the Bible’s relevance but in reality, it compromises the plain truth that God created life instantly by His word, not through a slow, random process.
📖 Genesis 2:7 (KJV) And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.
If Theistic Evolution were true, then death, struggle, and “survival of the fittest” would have existed long before Adam sinned. That means creatures and even humans would have been dying, competing, and suffering for millions of years while God supposedly called His creation “very good” (Genesis 1:31).
📖 Genesis 1:31 (KJV) And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.
This turns death and suffering into part of God’s design, instead of the result of sin. But the Bible plainly teaches that death came after sin, not before
📖 1 Corinthians 15:21-22 (KJV) For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead. 22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.
Therefore, Theistic Evolution makes God responsible for a world of pain and decay a direct contradiction to the goodness and holiness of the Creator.
C. The Serpent Seed Doctrine
What it teaches: Eve had relations with Satan and birthed Cain.
People who believe the Serpent Seed Doctrine usually do so to explain the origin of evil or to create a literal, physical distinction between “good” and “evil” lineages. They claim Cain was the offspring of Eve and Satan, trying to make sin hereditary rather than the result of disobedience. Some are attracted to it because it offers a dramatic, sensational explanation of evil that seems to fit mysterious passages like Genesis 3:15.
📖 Genesis 3:15 (KJV) And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.
However, this idea directly contradicts Scripture Genesis 4:1
📖 Genesis 4:1 (KJV) And Adam knew Eve his wife; and she conceived, and bare Cain, and said, I have gotten a man from the LORD.
Clearly states that Adam fathered Cain, and Jesus identifies spiritual rebellion, not physical descent, as the mark of the children of the devil (John 8:44).
📖 John 8:44 (KJV) Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.
Key Point: This shows that the seed is not referring to Cain as of lineage but but as a spirit seed.
2️⃣ False Doctrines About Angels, Giants, and the Supernatural
A. Nephilim / Fallen Angel Hybrid Theory
What it teaches: Fallen angels married human women and produced giants (Genesis 6).
People who believe the Nephilim or Fallen Angel Hybrid theory often do so because Genesis 6 mentions the “sons of God” and the Nephilim, which they interpret literally as angels marrying human women and producing giant offspring. This idea can be appealing because it sounds mysterious, sensational, and fits popular myths about giants and supernatural beings. Some also use extra-biblical sources like the Book of Enoch to support it, believing it adds hidden knowledge. In reality, this teaching arises from misreading Scripture and trying to explain the origin of evil or unusual human traits with fantastical ideas, rather than trusting the plain meaning of the text.
📖 Genesis 6:1-4 (KJV) And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them, 2 That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose. 3 And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years. 4 There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.
The problem with the Fallen Angel Hybrid theory is that it directly contradicts Scripture. Jesus makes it clear that angels do not marry or reproduce. Claiming angels had children with women also relies on extra-biblical sources like the Book of Enoch, which is not inspired Scripture.
📖 Matthew 22:30 (KJV) For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven.
The “sons of God” refers to righteous men (descendants of Seth) marrying unbelieving women (descendants of Cain), just like today christians are called the sons of God,
📖 Romans 8:14 (KJV) For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.
And nowhere are angels Called the “sons of God”.
📖 Hebrews 1:5 (KJV) For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son?
As for Giants (Nephilim) were humans not hybrids, because we need to see what the Bible says about Giants not our preconceived ideas. In the Bible Giants are considered as roughly 9 feet 9 inches (2.97 m) tall.
📖 1 Samuel 17:4 (KJV) And there went out a champion out of the camp of the Philistines, named Goliath, of Gath, whose height was six cubits and a span.
Nowhere are Giants recorded as anything past 11 foot.
Key Point: The issue was corruption of godly lineage, not genetic mixing.
B. The Anunnaki / Alien Creation Theory
What it teaches: Aliens or advanced beings created mankind a modern pagan reinterpretation of Genesis.
Why it’s wrong:
Directly denies God as Creator (Genesis 1:27).
Rooted in ancient Mesopotamian mythology and modern UFO cults.
Key Point: The Creator is not from the heavens — He made the heavens.
C. Watcher Angel Mythology
What it teaches: Draws from the Book of Enoch that certain “watchers” came to earth and corrupted mankind.
Why it’s wrong:
The Book of Enoch is not inspired Scripture — filled with contradictions.
2 Timothy 3:16 — Only Scripture is given by inspiration of God.
Angels in Scripture always serve God’s will — not act independently.
Key Point: God’s Word is sufficient; we don’t need extra-biblical books for truth.
3️⃣ The Real Lesson
Satan has always attacked the foundation “Yea, hath God said?” (Genesis 3:1).
Every false doctrine about creation leads to one thing: doubt in the authority of Scripture.
📖 Psalms 11:3 (KJV) If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?
✅ Conclusion
The Bible doesn’t need to be adjusted to fit science, history, or myths they need to adjust to the Bible.
God’s Word is complete, perfect, and sufficient.
