The Feast of Weeks
The Feast of Weeks, also called Pentecost, was celebrated 50 days after Passover (Leviticus 23:15–16) as the firstfruits of the wheat harvest. It was a joyful time when Israel offered two loaves of leavened bread to the Lord, symbolizing God’s provision and blessing. In the New Testament, this feast was fulfilled in Acts 2, when the Holy Spirit was poured out, bringing the first great harvest of souls. Just as the Feast of Weeks celebrated a physical harvest, Pentecost celebrates a spiritual harvest through the power of the Spirit.
