Our Journey to Hawke’s Bay: Answering the Call
When we made the decision to move to Hawke’s Bay to plant churches throughout the East Coast region, we knew it was going to be a big step. What we didn’t anticipate were all the unforeseen challenges that came with it. Renovating an old home to meet the necessary standards took longer than expected, forcing us to stay with others until it was completed. We needed extra hands to help with tasks, finances to keep moving forward, and patience as we navigated this transition. Despite the stress and uncertainty, we knew that every sacrifice was worth it for the greater good of our Almighty God.
Now that we are here in Wairoa, we are experiencing the beauty and simplicity of life on the East Coast. The pace is much slower than what we were used to, but that has been a blessing in disguise. With hunting and fishing readily available, and no traffic to worry about, life here feels peaceful and fulfilling. Since our arrival, we have already enjoyed fishing in the river right outside our front door, catching plenty of fish—a small but tangible reminder of God’s provision.
Beyond settling into our new home, we have begun ministering to the people here, sharing the love of Christ and helping those in need. We are called to give a reason for the hope within us, just as 1 Peter 3:15 instructs:
“But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear.”
Our desire is to live in a way that glorifies God, as 1 Peter 2:12 reminds us:
“Having your conversation honest among the Gentiles: that, whereas they speak against you as evildoers, they may by your good works, which they shall behold, glorify God in the day of visitation.”
Through our actions and our faith, we hope to be a light in this community, showing others the joy and purpose that comes with serving a living God.
We are excited for what the future holds and are trusting in God’s plan as we continue this mission. Thank you for your prayers and support—may His name be glorified in all we do!
