Your Heart Will Deceive You
📖 Jeremiah 17:9-10 (KJV) The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? 10 I the LORD search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.
1️⃣ Fleshy wants
What we need to understand is that our heart which is our feelings can and will deceive us here is an example:
Its like when you see one of your friends or family members fall in love with someone you know isn’t right for them and we would call this blind love because the loved one does not see what you see from the outside , and that is because their feelings (or their heart) only wants the desires, it wants to feel the pleasures. This is an issue with us humans.
📖 Psalms 23:1 (KJV) A Psalm of David. The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
The reasons why king David is saying this is because when we align ourselves to the word of God we learn not to want the pleasures of the flesh, as these can lead us into deep traps of sin, and we see this all around us in New Zealand, we see our whanau struggling in life due to their actions as there is a saying that goes, sin will keep you longer then you want to stay and cost you more you willing to pay.
Isn’t that true! We look around and we warn our families not to go down certain paths but it’s like talking to a brick wall, they walk right into the sin thinking its ok but its one big spiral that goes on and on till there’s no return, I’ve seen it with mine own eyes. I’ve seen loved ones lose their whole family and job because of drugs and fornication!
📖 Proverbs 28:26 (KJV) He that trusteth in his own heart is a fool: but whoso walketh wisely, he shall be delivered.
🪴 Eve in the Garden
📖 Genesis 3:6 (KJV) And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.
Eve looked at the fruit and her feelings took over. She felt it looked good, she felt it would make her wise, and she trusted those emotions more than the clear command God had already given. Instead of standing on God’s Word, she allowed her desires to guide her, and that moment of trusting feelings over truth led to the fall of mankind. Eve is the perfect example of how dangerous it is when we let what we feel overrule what God has said.
📖 Proverbs 14:12 (KJV) There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.
🚶🏻♂️Cain’s Jealously
📖 Genesis 4:5-8 (KJV) But unto Cain and to his offering he had not respect. And Cain was very wroth, and his countenance fell. 6 And the LORD said unto Cain, Why art thou wroth? and why is thy countenance fallen? 7 If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him. 8 And Cain talked with Abel his brother: and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother, and slew him.
Cain felt jealous, angry, offended.
He trusted his feelings instead of obeying God’s warning (Gen 4:6–7) the Result was murder.
And because of his actions God placed a curse on Cain.
📖 Genesis 4:11-13 (KJV) And now art thou cursed from the earth, which hath opened her mouth to receive thy brother's blood from thy hand; 12 When thou tillest the ground, it shall not henceforth yield unto thee her strength; a fugitive and a vagabond shalt thou be in the earth. 13 And Cain said unto the LORD, My punishment is greater than I can bear.
Again we learn that sin will keep us longer then we want to stay and cost us most then we are willing to pay.
📖 Mark 7:21-23 (KJV) For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, 22 Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness: 23 All these evil things come from within, and defile the man.
So we see here again that its the heart which is connected to our fleshly wants and desires, but like David said is the Psalms, “The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.”.
So we have learnt that our flesh cannot be trusted, our feelings cannot be trusted which leads me to my next point which is Gods truth overrides our feelings.
2️⃣ Gods truth overrides our feelings
📖 Proverbs 3:5-8 (KJV) Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. 6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. 7 Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil. 8 It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones.
There are many great truths in the Bible that men might find hard to believe, for example the creation of the world.
🌍 Creation of the world
📖 Psalms 33:6-9 (KJV) By the word of the LORD were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth. 7 He gathereth the waters of the sea together as an heap: he layeth up the depth in storehouses. 8 Let all the earth fear the LORD: let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him. 9 For he spake, and it was done; he commanded, and it stood fast.
The reason for this is that men want to be able to prove everything by their logic, but at the end of the day our logic or science can never determine the celestial realm, because we cannot see it nor measure it, but even then the unsaved will hit a road block because they too have to believe that the world came into existence from nothing, thats faith since no one was there and their so-called wisdom cannot measure such a claim, this is where God get the last say because he curses the earth for its ignorance.
📖 Romans 1:18-32 (KJV) For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; 19 Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. 20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:
Its true to naturally understand that there is a celestial realm, I remember when I was a kid I used to think “surely there’s a God out there” as I looked up into the sky and talk to it and eventually as I got older the sky responded as I was seeking truth it came to me, it had to be a God moment, and it reminds me of the verse “Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.”, lets carry on…
21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. 22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, 23 And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.
So what we see here is the world will worship anything but the creator because because humans in general can’t be humble enough to obey God and his commandments, so the world will make up make up their own gods that fit their pleasures.
24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: 25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. 26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: 27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.
This is where the curses of God start to take place for rejecting God continually, and we see that sodomy is the curse upon the world, and thats what we see today, the Bible predicted it again, as the Bible predicted Jesus’s coming so God predicted the end of the world and what it will look like, the Bible tells us that it will be like the days of Lot which is Sodomy, it will be cruel and violent as we see next…
28 And even as they did not like to retain God in theirknowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; 29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, 30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, 31Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful: 32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.
So this is a bad list of attributes but these are the curses God will place upon you for rejecting the simplicity of the Gospel and God will give people what they want so they can find out the hard way not play with him.
So when it comes to bible truth our flesh might not agree but we need to learn to not trust our flesh as we know it cannot be trusted.
👰🏻♀️ Submissive wives
Ephesians 5:22-24 (KJV) Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord. 23 For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body. 24 Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.
This is an issue today as well, and it’s because of pride and fleshy wants that women want to lead their households and husbands.
Now the reason for this structure is because the Man was created first and women last, also because it was Eve who sinned first not Adam.
📖 1 Timothy 2:11-15 (KJV) Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. 12 But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence. 13 For Adam was first formed, then Eve. 14 And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression. 15 Notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing, if they continue in faith and charity and holiness with sobriety.
And so women should not be pastors or teachers in the church but rather they should home keepers and children bearers so we can bring up our children properly in a clean home and environment.
Women have a great purpose and attributes that God has given them.
📖 Genesis 2:18 (KJV) And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.
Women have a natural caring nature about them, God made them this way to be a help to the man, to care for and help the man.
📖 Proverbs 31:26-28 (KJV) She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness. 27 She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness. 28 Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.
We see she cares for her household better than anyone else, its different from a man because we are based on logic not on our caring nature, this is why women shouldn’t lead, because their decision making will bring in sins, though they might mean well, it will destroy the churches and the nations.
📖 1 Peter 3:7 (KJV) Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered.
Women are the weaker vessel, not only physically are they weaker but women don’t know how to handle confrontation better than men, and as a leader you will face many confrontational issues, also the women decision making is based on emotions rather then logic. This is why our world as we know it is far gone from the things of God.
There was this guy that was explaining that a lot of the problems we have now is due to women allowing to vote! And he went on to explain that because of the women vote, we have women working, 50/50 relationships, abortion, sodomy and much more, but before women could vote now of things were possible, a real man would never vote for the legalization of sodomy!
I saw a video of a women who was upset because all she wanted was to be stay home mother where she could go out to the chickens and get the eggs while she is holding her baby in one arm and her other toddler is following behind her! but the reality is that Society has made it hard to do that, and so she was saying that its a new flex or its a privilege to be able to be a house wife, thats true.
💀 Death penalty
📖 Exodus 21:12 (KJV) He that smiteth a man, so that he die, shall be surely put to death.
Our Governments are responsible to put evil people to death. This is including murderers, pedophiles, adulterers, sodomy and so forth…
📖 Romans 13:3-4 (KJV) For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same: 4 For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to executewrath upon him that doeth evil.
But our governments don’t have Godly men leading so the death penalty is taken away.
📖 Leviticus 20:10 (KJV) And the man that committeth adultery with another man's wife, even he that committeth adultery with his neighbour's wife, the adulterer and the adulteress shall surely be put to death.
📖 Leviticus 20:13 (KJV) If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.
People will say thats the Old Testament? ok well lets look at the New Testament, which we already read Romans 1 where it talked about putting sodomy and evil people to death but also in Jude.
Jude 1:7 (KJV) Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.
Not only are they deserving of death but also reserved for hell.
Conclusion
Now if there is anything we learnt, its that we cannot trust our flesh to make decisions this is why we follow Gods law to help us to stay on the right path and to not fall under his curses. It’s important to allow Gods word to be true and our feeling to be false as the Bible said
📖 Romans 3:4 (KJV) God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That thou mightest be justified in thy sayings, and mightest overcome when thou art judged.
📖 Acts 5:29 (KJV) Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.
I don’t go by my feeling, because my feelings almost destroyed my life and it did a lot of my families lives, follow our fleshy desires it feeding the flesh only and is not in your best interest to look after your personal well-being.
