Laboring To Enter Rest
Labouring to Enter Into His Rest | Hebrews 4:11
What does the Bible mean when it says, “Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest” (Hebrews 4:11)? Does this verse teach that we must work for our salvation?
In this sermon, we examine Hebrews 4 in context and show the difference between labouring to be saved and entering into God’s rest by faith.
Workmanship of God
“We are His workmanship.”
That means you’re not saved by accident and you’re not useless to God. You were created in Christ, not in religion, and you were created unto good works. You’re not saved by works — you’re saved for them. God already prepared the path; your job is to walk in it.
The City of Babylon
📖 The First Kingdom Nimrod and Babylon
After the Flood, a man named Nimrod rose up and became the first empire builder. The Bible says, “The beginning of his kingdom was Babel” (Genesis 10:10). From his rule came the first organized civilization in the land of Shinar the same place where the Tower of Babel was built. Nimrod’s name means “We will rebel,” and his kingdom symbolized humanity’s attempt to build greatness without God. From Nimrod’s Babel to Babylon in Revelation, the story is the same human pride versus God’s authority.
