After the Flood, a man named Nimrod rose up and became the first empire builder. The Bible says, “The beginning of his kingdom was Babel” (Genesis 10:10). From his rule came the first organized civilization in the land of Shinar the same place where the Tower of Babel was built. Nimrod’s name means “We will rebel,” and his kingdom symbolized humanity’s attempt to build greatness without God.
